Learn Grammar | Grammar : Modal Auxiliary Verb | Modal comes from the mode or mood, which means a set of inflected forms of a verb to express whether the activity / situation expressed by the verb it is a fact, a certain attitude, command possibilities or expectations.
A. Statement showing the facts

Thus it is not a fact, but can be a command (as liabilities), possibility, hope, expectations, estimates, proposals, conditions, ability to use the verb form.
a. suppose : recommend
suggest : propose / recommend
hope : expect
b. Auxiliary verb ; can may, should, must, ought to, might etc.

AUXILIARY VERB
The definition of "Modal auxiliary verb" is a group of auxiliary verbs, which complements (adds to) the meaning of the verb (main verb) a sentence. Thus the function of modal is to increase the meaning of the verb that follows.

1. Modal was never in the form-ing or past, and never have the suffix-s.
It thus applies to all forms of sentence subject either single or plural without undergoing a process of affixation. (without adding-s)
2. In the sentence construction, modal can be arranged in two ways :
a. Modal + Verb 1
