Colleagues and relatives that my countrymen proud and I love,
Praise be thankful today because we can all celebrate a very special day in the history of the Indonesian nation: 100 years of national awakening. Today with a clean heart and soul of light we all, stand upright as a citizen of Indonesia, as the fourth largest in the world, as the world's largest archipelago nation, as a nation and biggest economy in Southeast Asia nation.

That's why, on this auspicious occasion I invite all the people of Indonesia to convey a sense of respect, gratitude and highest appreciation to the founders and fighters of the nation, which has led us all into the lives of the more advanced nations today. In the early 20th century, the nation's founders and fighters find new political ideas that have not been explored before, namely nationalism.

They lit a fire and spreading it, and then make it in one of the most glorious revolution in the 20th century which gave birth to the Republic of Indonesia's independence.

Thanks to their struggle and sacrifice, today we can come together in determination and spirit of nationality Indonesia, from Sabang to Merauke, from Miangas to Rote Island. Indonesia, which 100 years ago only a dream, just aspirations, just a concept, has now become a reality, it becomes our identity, a great country that we love together. And we all truly become a developed nation, a strong and superior.

We often haunted by uncertainty, doubt and distrust in the nation's life that a growing number of challenges, and in the development of an increasingly complex world. We ask, whether this nation has been traveling in the right direction? Our big trip of the year 1908, the year 1945, the year 2008 and future years. We wonder whether our nation can be a developed country in the 21st century? Become a respectable nation, and not inferior to other nations. We also ask, when our nation is now being tested again by the energy crisis and the world food crisis, whether we can face and overcome? To the third question, the answer is Indonesia could be a developed country of the 21st century as well as food and energy crisis the world is going we can handle, why? 100 years since we've become a nation that is enabled, a nation that could, could change fate, can unite, can expel the invaders, can achieve and maintain independence and can overcome the challenges of history.

Brothers and countrymen ,
Our nation began to rise on May 20, 1908, when the organization was founded on the campus of Budi Utomo STOVIA, Jakarta. Budi Utomo was a new political innovation. For the first time that arise in the archipelago of a modern organization with a new perspective and different. Budi Utomo birth has become a milestone that fosters the spirit of struggle, as well as the inspiration for the founding of organizations throughout the country, whether they are regional, political, labor union, religious, youth and femininity.

As a great nation, we must face the future optimistically, because we live in the 21st century full of possibilities and opportunities. Coined the ability of our nation and can change our fate and our future, and could be a developed country, excel and prosper. Therefore, I invite my brothers and sisters, let us continue to struggle together, step together and work hard together, to achieve a glorious future of Indonesia. Let us continue with reforms to continue to develop democracy, to enforce the laws, build a clean system and to accelerate local development and to improve the economy and welfare. To the world community, I also called and invited to jointly create a more peaceful world order, fairer, and really bring prosperity to all nations and not just for a handful of nations. True justice on the world stage we should be able to make happen.

Finally, let us pray to god almighty, I hope the nation and state we are always given the strength and high morale as a nation to remain firmly in the shade State of the unitary Republic of Indonesia.
