Pattern :
That + Subject + Verb + Object
The word "that" has no meaning. It only marks the beginning of the clause.
1. As a subject.
examples :

| That my pen-friend suddenly came to my house | Is | Surprising | |
| 3 | It | Is | Strange |

2. As an object.
examples :

| 1 | We | Know | It |
| We | Know | That the earth moves around the sun. | |
| 2 | I | Believe | It |
| I | Believe | That you say the truth | |
| 3 | I | Refuse | It |
| I | Refuse | That students must wear ties every day. |
Notes : The word "that" is usually omitted when it is placed as the object.
examples :
1. a. I think that Mr. Arman is a good father.
b. I think Mr. Arman is a good father.
2. a. My mother says that she will go home late.
b. My mother says she will go home late.
