Speaking : Giving Instructions

Education English | Speaking : Giving Instructions | Instructions usually begin with infinitive without to (verb base). Remember ! to make an instruction sounds more polite, use the word 'pleas' at the beginning or at the end of the instruction. Here some examples of instructions :
Instructing  :
  • Remove the pan from the heat, please.
  • Switch off the phone in class
  • Please press the button gently
  • Open the door please
  • Please read the rule first.
  • Please read the direction for use first.
Note :
If we don't use a verb as commanding word , use be + adjective
examples :
  • be careful
  • be gentle

When we forbid someone to do something , use don't + verb without to or don't + be
examples:
  • Don't be noisy
  • Don't eat the fried chicken in the cupboard.
