a. Hope to + V
- I hope to have a big house one day.
-The urban people hope to get jobs in Jakarta.
b. Hope for + Noun
-Rina hopes for a new brother in her house.
-Mother hopes for a good salary from her office.
c. Possessive adjective (my, her, its, your, their, our) + wish + to be
-His wish is to get more income
-My wish is to spend a vacation in Lombok island.
d. Wish to + V
-Lia wishes to find a qualified college
-Yudi wishes to make a small factory by him self.
e. wish for + noun
-My brother wishes for a new house.
-Nani wishes for a lot of friends in her new school.
f. Expect to + V
-The Jakarta Government expects to get foreign aids managing the urban people.
-Mira expects to live in the country.
g. Expect + object (noun : father, dodi,rini ; pronoun : me/he/it etc.) + to + V
- Mrs. Rully expects me to finish my study in SMU 1
-Mr. Jaka expects Mr. Toto to repair her house.

- The poor people expect the social aid.

The words hope and wish are also used in other expression. For examples :
- In our home, mother's wish is the law.
It means that our mother 'rules' the law.
-Your wish is my command.
It means that your wish is a command for me so that I have to fulfill your wish.
-Hope does live
This expression is said in or of a situation where one does not know yet the reality is. As an example when beloved one is badly injured because of an accident and we do not know whether he/she will be well soon or not, we can say hope does live to express that there is always hope for our beloved one to get recovered.
- Hope against hope
It means one knows that one has to face a negative reality, but one still hopes it will pass or turn into something positive like ; I hope against hope that will I pass the test.
- I wish you luck with it.
It means one thinks that the other person will meet a negative situation, so he / she says the expression above so that the other person will be lucky.
- I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.
The expression is said of something terrible.
-There is some hope.
It means that there is no hope at all.
- Living between hope and fear.
It means that it is very frightening to get the worst but let's hope that it will pass.
-Having vain hope.
It means that there is no hope.
