example :
1. I wish I knew after your adress.
Fact : I do not know your adress.
2. Iwan wishes he had the info about the student exchange programme.
Fact : He does not have the info about students exchange programme.
We use past perfect after the word wish to express the past fact.
Examples :
1. They wish the train had arrived
fact : The train did not arrived
2. The students wish their teacher would not have punished.
Fact : The teacher punished them.
Note:
The verb that follows wish does not have the tense which corresponds to the meaning. When the fact in present , the wish sentences is expressed in past tense. When the fact is in the past, the wish sentence is expressed in past perfect tense.
