Speaking : Giving Instruction

Education English | Speaking : Giving Instruction | In giving instruction there are rules as follows :
When the commanding words is a verb, use the infinitive without to.
examples ;
  • Paint the wall.
  • Listen to the news today
If you do not use a verb as a commanding word, use be + adjective
examples :
  • Be happy
  • Be dilligent

When you forbid someone to do something, use don't + verb infinitive without to.
examples :
  • Don't be noisy
  • Don't eat the fried chicken in the cupboard.

You often put the word please at the beginning or at the end of an instruction, You see it to make the instruction sounds more polite.
examples :
  • Open the door, please
  • Please read the rules first.
