Review Text : Amp fiddler

Amp fiddler is awesome. Almost no one in Jakarta had heard of him before the java jazz festival, but this guy drew an ever growing crowd to dance and sing along to his jazzy funk, urban soul tunes, not to mention the screams of adoration that erupted as he punched his keyboard passionately.
A number of performers even some bigger and more popular names at the festival on Friday did not get a call for encore. But this Detroit born musician did. And it was a heartfelt encore.“I’m a soul singer. What I bring is my soul. I give my soul to the audience”, he said in preshow interview on the first day of the jazz festival.
Well this might sound a little melodramatic, but he proved it during his one and a half hours show at the Jakarta Convention Center.
Critical reviews of his album could not help but hear the sound of 1970’s funk group Sly and the family stone in fiddler’s music.
In fact fiddler said recently he was still listening t Sly and the Family stone in addition to a friend of mine “Van Hunt”
However this album his not available in Jakarta stores. So if you are a real soul lover tell your friends who are traveling abroad to pick up a fiddler CD for you.

Education English | Review Text : Harry Potter : Order Of The Phoenix 7 | I absolutely love the harry potter series, and of the books will always hold a special place in my heart. I have to say that of all the books, however this was not my favorite.When the series began it was as much of “feel good” experience as a huge mug of hot cocoa. The stories were bright, fast faced, intriguing and ultimately satisfying.
Order the phoenix is a different kind of book. In some instances this works you feel a whole, new level of intensity and excitement by the time you get to the end. I was truly moved by the last page. Other times the book just has a slightly dreary, depressing feel. Other times the book just has a shlowed to a trot here and parts of it do seem long, as if we’re reading all about harry “just hanging out” instead of having his usual adventures. Reading in detail about Harry cleaning up an old house, for example housekeeping is still housekeeping, magical or no and I am not very interested in doing it or reading about other people doing it.

A few other changes in this book the real world comes much more in ti play either than the fantasy universe of the previous books, and harry has apperantly been taken of his meds. I know that he had a lot to be grumpy in this book, especially with being a teenager and all, but the sudden change in his character seemed like it did not fit with his character, like he turned into a walking click of the angry teen overnight.
The real story seemed to happen in the last 1/3 book and this part I loved. I actually liked the ending (and yes.I cried) as sad as it was. Education English | Review Text : Bio-Fuels | Bio-Fuels Worse than Fossil Fuels, Scientific Studies Said Biofuels are making climate change worse, not better, according to two new studies which found that total greenhouse effect gas emissions from biofuels are far higher than those from burning gasoline because biofuel production is pushing up food prices and resulting in deforestation and loss of grasslands. “Emissions from ethanol are 93 % higher than gasoline,” said David Tilman, an ecologist at the University of Minnesota and co author of one of the paper published Thursday in the Journal Science. “The bottom line is that using good farmland for biofuels increases greenhouse emissions,” he said. Corn-based ethanol was supposed to reduce emissions of greenhouse gasses (GHGs) by 10 to 20% compared to burning gasoline.

But previous studies did not account for the real-world fact that when agricultural land is used for fuel there is less land to grow food in a hungry world. That drives up food prices and leads to conversion of forest and native grass-lands to grow food. Converting forest and grassland is a big climate no-no. Each converted hectare dumps about 351 tonnes of GHGs on average into the atmosphere. Natural lands have been accumulating carbon for hundreds of years. It would take 167 years of ethanol production on that hectare to balance the equation, even assuming ethanol does reduce emission 20%, reports Timothy Searchinger and colleagues in the other paper.

And Searchinger found this is the case for all biofuels, although the timeframes differ. When a hectare of peat land rainforest in Indonesia or Malaysia is converted to grow oil palm trees for palm oil, it will take 423 years producing palm biodiesel to work off the carbon debt from conversion of these tropical rainforest.

Review Text : 2012 Film Review

2012 is Roland Emmerich's film which uses the Mayan calendar and other end-of-days prophecies for their doomsday scenario. It imagines the world coming to an end in 2012. 2012 film brings off a series of wonders. The movie hits its peak early on. It starts when Cusack drives a limo through the streets of Los Angeles as freeways and skyscrapers crumble all around him from the shock of a 10.5 earthquake. The preposterous flying sequence is equally thrilling. The climax occurs aboard the giant ark, when an equipment malfunction almost threatens the entire mission.Unfortunately, the crucial sequence is not filmed or edited with the requisite clarity. In 2012 film, Emmerich leaves us befuddled as to exactly what is happening to whom. However, Emmerich' 2012 deserves credit for offbeat casting. Cusack supplies his trademark hangdog charm. McCarthy has perhaps his best role ever as Peet's cocky. Danny Glover lends dignity to the role of the tormented president. Chiwetel Ejiofor, as the chief scientist, brings a moving sense of anguish to a stock role. Platt has fun playing the villain of the piece, and Woody Harrelson also chews the scenery as a bug-eyed radio prophet trying to warn his listeners about Armageddon.
All in one, 2012's cinematography, production design and visual effects are awards-worthy. Music also propels the movie. It presents American Idol runner-up, Adam Lambert, who provides a rousing anthem over the end credits.
