Education English | The Nature of Fiction Translation | Criticism divided literature into different categories : poetry, drama and prose fiction.(Yongfang Hu : 2000). Prose fiction presents a story that is invented and not literally true. Prose fiction is written to be read rather than acted or performed, and the events described are told us by a narrator, not enacted or dramatized (Watkins in Yongfang Hu : 2000).
Translation of fiction is more complicated than poetry and drama, because it is not only about bilingual but also bicultural and bi social transference. In translation fiction, the translator should change the social experience of individu in another culture. The difficulties also find by the translator of fiction to get the style of a novel/short story and the message of the author related to social life, human relationship, etc. The imitator (translator)must see to what he writes is similar, but not the very same (Hosein Vahid Dastjerdi, 2005). Here the translator should realize that even he tries to change the source text well, he can’t say that the result of translation will be same completely with the original.
