Procedure Text : How Chinese Dancing Lion is Made .

Have you witnessed a lion dance and wondered how people made that magnificient lion ? the head is the most essential part of a dancing lion. It involves intricate handiwork and great care taking over. If a craftsman is careless, the head will be broken in the midst of energetic dancing.
First, the craftsman binds bamboo ribs together to form roughly the skeleton of the lion’s head. He then fastens joins by paper strips. Then he pasts over the skeleton with rice paper to form the first covering. On top of this is another covering to make the lion’s head stronger and more lasting. This covering is a special kind of tough paper that will not tear easly.
The craftsman makes the lion’s beard from nylon threads. He makes out the eyes’socket from wood and paints the eyes in glass. He arranges some decorations like rabbit hair, fur tassles, and metal buckles on the lion’s head in order to make it look really magnificent
The lion’s body consist of wire netting with a blanket 3.7 metres long abd 1.5 metres wide over it. In thebody he puts the decorations like spangles onto theblanket to make it as colourful as the head itself.
Dancing lion are getting popular overseas. People from countries like Japan, the United States and Canada buy them for Hon Kong to use as decoration.
