THE CUSTOM OF BRITAIN (BRITISH PEOPLE)

  1. Kissing is not common as a form of greeting unless you know someone well. It is especially unusual between men who usually shake hands or just say “hello” without touching.
  2. Unless you know someone well, it is impolite to ask them how much they earn or how much they paid for something.
  3. In shops and at the bus stops, we should go to the back of queue and wait. Cutting in the queue will make other people angry.
  4. Punctuality is important. When arranging to meet someone, we should not be late.
  5. On trains, especially underground trains, people tend to sit in silence and read. We might not get much of response if we try to start a conversation with the person next to us.
