S + Will + Vbase
S + be going to + Vbase
The functions of will and be going to :
1. You can use will or be going to to express a prediction
examples :
- I think Mr. Smith is not going to /will not come to the meeting. He is disappointed with director's decision.
- Watch out! The tree is going to / will fall.
2.You can use only be going to to express a prior plan.
example :
Nany : Did you know that Mr. Ronald is sick?
Ira : Yes, Susi and I are going to visit him tonight.
3. You can use only will to express willingness
example :
Elda : Oh, there are many dirty plate to wash.
Shint : Don't worry, I'll wash them.

Tommy : I think so. I’ll wait for you
The sentences above use ‘will’ and ‘be going to’
Both ‘will’ and ‘be going to’ are used to express future time.
