What sports is older than skiing ? wheter than swimming ? more dangerous than rock climbing ? Here is a clue: underground rivers. The first time I saw a cave was last October. Mr. Crsytal drove six of us into the coutryside and then we walked up a hill, carrying helmets, lamps and ropes. Then we followed a stream to a corner of a held. There we found a small rocky hole about 1 meter wide. I put on my helmet with its lamp and followed the leader of our group, Mr,Crystal. Getting into a cold stream was a shock, I then crawled on our stomachs for about five minutes. The tunnel ended and we were in a big cave. It was very beautiful. At the other end, we went down another hole. At first we crawled downwards into the water but then the ground again standing in a field higher up the hill. How does caving compare with other sports ? it was a bit frightening but also very exciting. If you want to tray caving, to talk to Mr. Crystal.
